Welcome to our Reception class page. We hope you have had a brilliant Easter holiday. We hope you are ready for another exciting term of learning. Our topic this term is 'Journeys'. Each week we will be exploring learning around Journeys such as:
Our Own Journeys
Transport- Wheels, Wings & Water
Stories about journeys
Please remember to add photo's and videos of your childs learning onto our Tapestry program.
Our learning in the different areas will focus on the gaps that we have identified in our children's learning development. In each of the areas of learning we will focus on a specific target that we will work with our children to achieve.
PSED: Managing feelings and behaviour, they adjust their behaviour to different situations, and take changes of routine in their stride
COMM: Understanding, especially by grouping and naming, exploring the meaning and sounds of new words
PD:Moving and Handling, they handle equipment and tools effectively, including pencils for writing
LIT: reading / writing, they read and write simple sentences which can be read by themselves and others
MATHS: number, they solve problems including doubling, halving and sharing
UTW: Technology, children recognise that a range of technology is used in places such as homes and schools
EA+D: Being imaginative, they represent their own ideas, thoughts and feelings through design and technology, art, music, dance, role play and stories.

My name is Chip
The children have been really excited about visiting our school library and taking out a book of their choice to promote reading for pleasure.
Each book has been taken out on your child's individual library card. We recommend that your child returns their library book by latest on the following Thursday so that their old book can be returned and new books taken out on a Friday.
Please ensure that the books are kept in good quality as books drawn on, ripped or not returned will mean that your child may not get to take out library books in the future.
