Welcome to our Reception class page. Happy New Year 2018!  We hope you have had a restful and happy Christmas break and are ready for another exciting term of learning. Our topic this term is 'Animals'. Each week we will be exploring  learning around animals such as:

 

Animals at home

 

 

Farm animals

 

 

Wild animals

Please remember to add photo's and videos of your childs learning onto our Tapestry program.

 

Our learning in the different areas will focus on the gaps that we have identified in our children's learning development. In each of the areas of learning we will focus on a specific target that we will work with our children to achieve.

 

PSED: Self confidence and self awareness, Be confident to speak to others about own needs, wants, interests and opinions

 

COMM: Speaking, Extends vocabulary, especially by grouping and naming, exploring the meaning and sounds of new words

 

PD: Health and self care, Shows some understanding that good practises with regards to exercise, eating, sleeping and hygiene can contribute towards good health

 

LIT: reading / writing, Can segment the sounds in simple words and blend them together / Uses some clearly identifiable letters to communicate meaning, representing some sounds correctly and in sequence

 

MATHS: number, Recognises numerals 1 -10 (and beyond)

 

UTW: Technology, Completes a simple program on the computer

 

EA+D: Being imaginative, Plays cooperatively as part of a group to develop and act out a narrative

 

Key Information:

 

PE sessions to be held every Thursday (please bring in a labelled PE uniform to be kept on the school grounds)

Learning logs will be handed out every Friday to be returned the following week with completed work by very latest Thursday

I can read to be handed out every Friday. Please ensure you return your book for new words / sentences by very latest Thursday

Mathletics and my maths activities can be accessed at home using your childs individual login details
