Welcome to our Reception class page. We hope you have had a brilliant Easter holiday.  We hope you  are ready for another exciting term of learning. Our topic this term is 'Journeys'. Each week we will be exploring  learning around Journeys such as:

Our learning in the different areas will focus on the gaps that we have identified in our children's learning development. In each of the areas of learning we will focus on a specific target that we will work with our children to achieve.


PSED: Managing feelings and behaviour, they adjust their behaviour to different situations, and take changes of routine in their stride


COMM: Understanding, especially by grouping and naming, exploring the meaning and sounds of new words


PD:Moving and Handling, they handle equipment and tools effectively, including pencils for writing


LIT: reading / writing, they read and write simple sentences which can be read by themselves and others


MATHS: number, they solve problems including doubling, halving and sharing


UTW: Technology, children recognise that a range of technology is used in places such as homes and schools


EA+D: Being imaginative, they represent their own ideas, thoughts and feelings through design and technology, art, music, dance, role play and stories.


Key Information:


PE sessions to be held every Thursday (please bring in a labelled PE uniform to be kept on the school grounds)

Learning logs will be handed out every Friday to be returned the following week with completed work by very latest Thursday

I can read to be handed out every Friday. Please ensure you return your book for new words / sentences by very latest Thursday
