Learning for week beginning 08.06.20

Hello Team 1!

I hope that you are all still keeping safe and well?

Some of you will be back in school and some of you will still be continuing with your home learning .

If you are staying at home I will be calling you again this week and I am really looking forward to hearing all about the things that you have been doing!

Don't forget that you can upload and share your work.

I have made you all your own file so that you can add any work, photos or pictures that you want to show me.

These are both great websites if you want to do some extra learning or play some on-line games.

Log in here to start your day with a mini PE lesson.

Click on the link below to join in with your daily phonics session.

For spelling this week, we will be using the Spelling Shed website to help you to practice and learn your spellings. You will need to login to play the games and you can find your user login in the T1 spelling shed pdf on this page.

Please use only your own details to log in.

Now that you have listened to the first part of the story, I would like you to complete the following tasks:

  • Predict how Mrs Grinling can ensure that Mr Grinling gets his lunch without the pesky seagulls stealing it!  You must write a description for your plan and draw a picture.  Please include as much detail as you can.
  • Make a list of the food and drink that you would pack up in the basket for Mr Grinling's lunch.
  • In the story there are quite a few words that you might not have heard before.  Please can you find out what each word means and use an alternative word in the sentence so that the meaning stays the same (you can ask a grown-up to help you or use a dictionary).
  1. Mr Grinling was a most industrious lighthouse keeper.
  2. Mrs Grinling worked in the kitchen of the little white cottage on the cliffs concocting a delicious lunch for him.
  3. Mrs Grinling had prepared a particularly appetising lunch.
  4. It was spotted by three scavenging seagulls who set upon it and devoured it with great gusto.
  5. Mr and Mrs Grinling decided on a plan to baffle the seagulls.
