Summer 2019

 

This half term we will be exploring the theme of 'Buzz, Wriggle and Crawl". The children will have the opportunity of exploring the changes they see within the natural environment and think about the different creatures they can see. We will have a think about the appearance of the creatures, what they like to eat and where they may live. We will explore key vocabulary such as 'wings', 'antenna', 'Cocoon' and 'metamorphosis'.

We are also really excited as from Tuesday 23rd April we will be having Living Eggs in our Reception class! The children will have an opportunity to see the eggs hatch, hold and feed the chicks and also see how they grow and change. We hope you will join us for this experience!

We also welcome you to join us for our end of year trip to Mersea beach on Friday 28th June. 

 

Please remember to add photo's and videos of your child's learning onto our Tapestry program. We would love to share with the class your fabulous learning experiences from home. 

 

Key Information:

 

PE sessions to be held every Thursday (please bring in a labelled PE uniform to be kept on the school grounds)

Learning logs will be handed out every Friday to be returned the following week with completed work by very latest Thursday

I can read to be handed out every Friday. Please ensure you return your book for new words / sentences by very latest Thursday

What colour hair do they have?

Is their hair long or short? 
Can you recognise any letters in their names?

Library Books!

 

The children be visiting our school library and taking out a book of their choice to promote reading for pleasure.

 

Each book has been taken out on your child's individual library card. We recommend that your child returns their library book by latest on the following Thursday so that their old book can be returned and new books taken out on a Friday.

 

Please ensure that the books are kept in good quality as books drawn on, ripped or not returned will mean that your child may not get to take out library books in the 

future.
