Year 6 residential Thursday pm
Thu 15 Jun 2023Evening everyone,
I’m very sorry but the Wi-Fi here is not the greatest, to be honest it is non-existent and I am having trouble loading photos. I will add them into the website once back in civilisation.
However, every one of your children have been amazing! They have faced fears, conquered heights and gone above expectations.
This afternoon Team Munn built rafts and completed a sensory trail, Team Chisnall and Team Bourdillon tackled the Trapeze and the Challenge course.
After a delicious dinner we all took part in balloon splash where the three teams competed in a protect the water balloon challenge. Team Munn come out victorious although there was some questionable tactics!
Bedtime now - for all of us!! More to come tomorrow.

Year 6 Residential Thursday morning
Thu 15 Jun 2023It was an early start! Most were up at 5am.
After an amazing breakfast of bacon, toast, mushrooms, beans, cereals and fruit we were off to our first activities.
Team Chisnall and Team Munn have both been on the Giant swing, whilst Team Bourdillon went abseiling. All the children and staff then went rifle shooting - slightly worrying to see a bunch of 10 year old with guns! And who knew that Mrs. Chisnall was a crack shot!
Come back later for an update on our afternoon activities.

Y6 Residential Day 1
Wed 14 Jun 2023Day 1 Update:
What a start to our adventure!
We arrived safely and after a packed lunch in the sunshine, started our activities.
For Team Munn it has been a day of heights, the Trapeze and Abseiling.
Team Chisnall and Team Bourdillon all got soaked building and sailing rafts. Archery followed and all the children rose to the occassion, with many scoring a bullseye.
A visit to the shop was followed by a delicious dinner, and then onto the last activity which was a team game of "Capture the Flag."
We are all so proud of the resilience and determination they have shown already.
All children are now showered and settling (?) down for the night.
There will be more updates tomorrow.

Re: Update on Strike Action
Wed 25 Jan 2023Dear Parents and Carers,
Re: Update on Strike Action
I am sure you will be aware from recent media reports that the National Education Union (NEU) has declared strike action for teaching staff in both February and March. The NEU have informed the Government that the following dates will likely be affected by strike action:
- Wednesday 1st February
- Wednesday 1st March
- Wednesday 15th March
- Thursday 16th March
While the planned action is as a result of a national dispute between the unions and the Government, and not the school, it is important that we respond accordingly in the interests of our students whilst respecting the rights of our staff. Therefore, my aim is to give you as much notice as possible of the likely impact of the strike action on the school. Whilst the March dates are still some way ahead of us, I am able to let you know what our plan is for Wednesday 1st February.
- On Wednesday 1st February 2023, the school will remain open and operate as normal and is open as usual to all students.
As I explained at the start of this letter, the NEU has indicated that there is further strike action planned for the 1st March, 15th and 16th March. Please make a note of these dates now and I will write to you in advance of each date to confirm any changes to arrangements and whether the strike is going ahead.
If you have any questions or concerns about the alternative arrangements outlined above, please do contact us.
Regards
Mr R Leach
Executive Headteacher
