Team 6 have had a great start to the year!
In English, we have concentrated out learning a book written by Louis Sachar called 'Holes'. The book follows Stanley Yelnats and his journey to Camp Green Lake, a detention camp for boys in America. The story uses flashbacks and other clever techniques to slowly reveal a backstory that is relevant to the main story.
We have some pen license holders FINALLY! Well done to those who have earned themselves a pen once again.
Since it is year 6 - the dreaded S@7s word has been mentioned and so we have been preparing for this by working through all sorts of tests that help us to identify gaps in our knowledge. I'm really proud of how hard we have worked and of how positively the children engaged with the tests. We have worked hard to master all of the four main operations in Maths... there is still a little bit of work to do on division and multiplication, but we're not far off now!
Our topic has been Science orientated. We have been learning about Space and the solar system and we have also been learning about light and how it behaves. We have really enjoyed the lessons about light!
